SAC Chairman PM Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visits earthquake-affected MICC I and Yanaungmyin Dam, mobile hospital in Shwekyapin Ward of Nay Pyi Taw

State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected damaged parts of Myanmar International Convention Centre I (MICC I) and Yanaungmyin Dam caused by the Mandalay earthquake which struck on 28 March and comforted patients at the mobile hospital in the township sports ground in Shwekyapin Ward of Zabuthiri Township yesterday afternoon.

 

Accompanied by SAC Secretary General Aung Lin Dwe, Union Minister U Myo Thant and officials, the Senior General looked into damage to the ceiling at the entrance to MICC I, some cracks in Jade Hall, Ruby Hall and Emerald Hall, meeting halls and walls.

 

Moreover, the Senior General viewed the filling of sand and earth in the cracks of the embankment at Yanaungmyin Dam as part of the temporary repair. Officials reported to the Senior General on strengthening of the dam, and the emergence of cracks. The Senior General instructed officials to set a target date to repair the damaged embankment before monsoon season and nurture the watershed forests to be green and thriving plants.
