Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing holds talks with President of Russian Federation H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin

Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a working visit to the Russian Federation at the invitation of President H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, held talks with President H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin at Kremlin Palace in Moscow this evening.
First, the Russian President warmly welcomed the Senior General and held discussions with him.
Also present together with the Senior General were SSPC Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, SSPC member Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, union ministers, U Nyan Tun, U Ko Ko Lwin, Dr Myo Thein Kyaw and Dr Thet Khaing Win, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Myanmar Ambassador to Russia U Thit Lin Ohn and officials. The Russian President was accompanied by the chief of staff of the Presidential Executive Office, the assistant to the President of Russian Federation, ministers of finance and energy, officials and heads of cabinet.
In his talks President H.E. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said he warmly welcomed the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and delegation. The age of diplomatic relations between the two countries has exceeded 70 years, and Your Excellency had signed many bilateral agreements during the visit to Russia. Continued implementation of the agreements will be discussed in detail.
Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing expressed pleasure for the meeting with the Russian President again amidst the tight work schedule. Myanmar-Russia diplomatic relations have exceeded the age of 70 years, and the military diplomatic relations between the two is also going strong, alongside the firm and cordial bilateral cooperation. The Senior General said he has belief in the right of every country to defend itself from any threats to sovereignty and the interest and security of the citizens and welcomes Russia’s efforts for sustainable peace. Soon, a free and fair multi-party democracy election will be held, and after the election, the State duties will be transferred in accord with the democratic principles. International observers will also be invited to the election. Bilateral cooperation in multiple sectors will be continued for the common interest of the peoples of both countries.
Afterwards, both sides cordially exchange views on cementing friendship between the two countries, and promotion of bilateral cooperation in multiple sectors including peaceful use of nuclear energy, investment, electricity, health, pharmaceutical manufacturing, agricultural, educational and defence sectors.
